Christmas is almost here!

Hard to believe it has come yet again! I have gotten to where I really hate the commercial side of Christmas! I would love to just stop it altogether and bring the focus back on CHRIST! He IS the REASON for the season! Too many have forgotten that! I have shopped for the children, although it is nothing as far as amounts as it used to be. They will have something at least.

I am going in a bit to the store to purchase items for my dinner on Christmas day. I am looking forward to the family coming to be together! JJ and Brittany will be coming at 10 a.m. to spend time with us! I am excited. This is Cassia's first Christmas and Cortney's first one with us. I am excited about the both of them!

I have been working on the house, getting it cleaned up for our company. I am hoping to have everything finished in time.

Cassia Found Her Toes!

I took Cassia to the Dr because I thought she had an ear infection. She was fine. Just discovered her ears! While waiting for the Dr, she discovered her toes! She is growing too fast! Cassia is now 15# and will be 4 months old on the 9th! She also screamed because the nurse who was black kinda scared her...lol!

Home Ec 101

So much has been going on that I have not been able to post as I usually would like. There have been some changes in our home. Good ones. Due to certain circumstances, our niece, Cortney has come to live with us.  It was an emotional ride to get here for sure. Things are great and we are settling in.

Cortney is 14, and just 17 days younger than Samuel. They have already been asked if they are twins. I think it's funny. I almost told one person yes and they are 17 days apart...but decided not too. :)

Cortney has been a dear part of our life for many years. She has stayed with us many times for long extended visits. She has always had a special place in our hearts. We are excited that she is here with us!

Rebecca's foot has healed wonderfully well. It is hardly noticeable now. She is able to walk and run normally now. The only thing we noticed is a little range motion loss in her pinkey toe. It does not hinder her at all. It was such a rough experience for her. I hope she that is the worst she ever has to endure.

Carl seems to be suffering from all the changes in our home. With Cassia coming in August and now Cortney coming I think he feels left out. He acts out quite a bit and it takes a good deal of patients to get through the day. I hope soon things for him calm down and he finds his place and realizes we still love him bunches!

Samuel is doing great. He has decided he does not like braces after all. lol But he knows in the end he will be glad he got them. He has taken over as bass player at church and still fills in on the drums. He has been playing more on the piano as well and I am just amazed at the talent he has! He is doing a GREAT job!

It's a cool morning here and I am waiting for it to warm up! Being chilled hurts my joints quite a bit. Today is supposed to be warm, then temps will drop again to the 50's. We are hoping we see snow soon. Cortney is hoping for a huge snow. Maybe she will get her wish...it's possible here in Virginia!

Today we will be baking cookies. Cortney gets her first lesson in cooking today! I think she is a little excited! :)

Today is our Thanksgiving Dinner. JJ & Brittany came and spent the day with us. I haave enjoyed it. Renee will be here soon. She had to work today. :( Right now we are being lazy! Too much food!

It's going to be one of those days. All the kids are sick, I have a toothache, and I have far too much to do to have all this to stop me today. So somehow I have to push through. I will have to get Samuel to help me on Monday To do the last major bit that needs to be done and then Tuesday I will spend packing for our Georgia trip. I aabsolutely dread the trip although we hope to see some friends and see some things accomplished. I dread the long ride. But I plan to bring the HIM CD and that will help a lot!

Happy Birthday Carl!

Carl is 4 years old! Can you believe it? I am amazed at how fast times flies. Since we are in Revival this week and Carl went with Jasper to JJ's to work on his truck, it made for a super rushed birthday! Carl got several things: Pajama's, Thomas and Percy bath toys, Thomas UNO Game, Tractor, Hot Wheels Cars, Punch Balloons, Gummy Sweet Tarts, Bump and Go Train, a puzzle, a Mosaic Picture maker set, and $60!

Saturday Night Post

It's ten minutes till 11. I am the only one up. Jasper has a rotten cold and was in bed by 10. Rebecca and Carl went to bed at 9:30. Cassia and Samuel were a bit later. I am going to do this post and then hit the shower.

Today Renee had the day off, so I took the kids shopping and we went to the pet store just to look around. They had fun. I also went and got a few groceries. It was around 6 when we got home. They seemed to enjoy the day. I did too.
Poor lil miss Cassia was pooped. She didn't have her long afternoon nap. So She was over tired and a little cranky. I got her to sleep but she would wake up easily until around 10 tonight. She zonked so soundly I was able to cut her fingernails.

I am working hard on my house. I am sorting through things tossing junk, getting ready for a possible house guest. Can't go into details right now. Just know, I am working hard getting things ready just in case!

I also called my mom today. She seems okay. Somewhat confused but not too bad. We didn't speak very long but it was a nice chat anyway.

Oh my my eyelids are falling. I need to jump in the shower then to bed. Have a great SUNDAY!!!!

Just sitting here

I am holding Cassia while she naps. She is growing so fast it is not even funny. She is becoming more vocal and beginning to drool everywhere. She still has her hair. I am hoping she keeps it! Her eyes are turning brown. Was really hoping that they would be blue but that's okay!

We are still moving rooms around. it's been so cold I haven't been able to get top the front porch to go through all the boxes. I am going to have to get them moved and things sorted asap! I have just a few days until we go to Georgia!

The weather has turned cool here in Virginia. This week we are in a warming trend. I am thankful for that. I have things to do and the warm weather will help me get them done! We have missed the 2 big storms so far that have hit the East Coast. I am sure we will get some snow later in the season.

I hope to be able to log in more soon. Until then it will be hit n miss.

Hurricane Sandy And Huckleberry!

As many have heard we are expecting some severe weather from this storm system. So far we have a lot of rain. The winds are expected to gust to 55. But one weather man says it will be worse. I will let you know after the dust settles lol!

We went this morning at 10 a.m. and officially became home owners again! We have been renting the house since April. It's a nice feeling!
Jasper is at this moment hanging plywood on the porch because we still didn't get everything off it in time. So to keep it from blowing away he thought this would help.

I have the little kids down napping. I am about to begin cleaning the house. I want to get as much as I can done before the storm hits. Just in case we lose electricity. So I am getting of here. I hope everyone else fairs well....be safe!

Rebecca's Dr Visit

Today we went to to see if the Dr was going to remove the stitches. As we waited her nervousness grew!

She was so scared. They removed 2 stitches and decided to leave the other 2 because he was afraid that if she fell and suddenly put weight on that heel it might open up again.

So we will return next Friday to get the other 2 removed.  He said she may need some PT, but, I doubt it. She is raring to go. lol

Here is what the x-ray showed before surgery. I knew it had went deep, but look how deep!!

They also had one showing it being removed, but we did not get that one... So we have the after...

Soon it will all be over and she will be able to run and play again! I will be glad for her. It's been really tough on her. But over all she has really done well!
