Rwandan Children singing "He Knows My Name"

I know these children are from another area, but it makes me want to see the Children of Safe Haven Orphanage!

Our Thanksgiving Trip To Georgia

We went to Georgia for Thanksgiving. It was the first trip since this past March. I had mixed feelings about going, but it was a pretty good trip after all. We stayed at DH parents home. It is always tough staying there, but really this was one of the better trips.

We arrived late Monday evening. Got unloaded and ready for bed. I got up early the next morning and was on the road by 10:30 a.m. heading to pick up one of my brothers and we went to Rome to see our other 2 brothers and our Mother.

First we went to see our brother Jesse in Lindale which neighbors Rome. His wife had fixed sloppy joes and fries for lunch and we had a great time visiting and talking about childhood stuff. Then we went to see Mom and Leo. I had not told them we were even coming to visit. We went and got pizza's for them and some candy too. Then gave them both a shock! It was great to see them laughing so much. It was 10:30 that night before I got home.

On Thanksgiving Day I was saddened to see dinner would include only 9 people of the close to 40 we usually have. It was disappointing for my inlaws as well. But we made the most of it and had a good time still.
Afterward the kids wanted to go fishing. So DH gathered poles and tackle from Grandma's building and down to the lake they went. They caught several fish! It was a great day for the kids!

We decided to leave on Friday. First we stopped back in to the Nursing Home to visit Mom and Leo once more. Then we stopped in Tennessee to eat at CI CI"S pizza with DH lil brother and his family. It was good to see them. We were back on the road by 4pm. We made it home by 11:15pm and we were very tired.

All in all it was a good trip. I don't know when we will get back there. It may be spring or later.

Revival was wonderful

We had a great revival this week. The messages were great and the LORD moved last night on his people. I really enjoyed it. Afterward we had a special dinner for Tony and Missy to show appreciation for them being Associate Pastors. It was good.

Uhhhh I need to get moving....

I have so much to do and I am like the worst ever procrastinator! This weekend will be a busy one. Starting today I need to get working on my very cluttered house and make sandwiches for after church tonight. We have been in Revival all week and tonight are having a surprise associate pastor dinner. I have to make a big pot of soup tomorrow for dinner on Sunday with our Pastop and his wife, and I have to pack in between all this for our trip to Georgia on Monday for Thanksgiving. I told you it would be busy.

Carl is about to pop knowing we are going to see Grandpa! I am so glad the children have gotten to know at least one set well. I never knew mine. I wished I had of.

I guess I better go get started if I want to get finished. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I will try to blog from my phone while in Georgia!

Asking a Mom if she's done....

I don't think people realize when they ask this how it affects people with large families. I love all my children. They are a huge blessing, a precious gift from God. I plan to have all God gives me.

Miss Dovie

A few years ago Samuel was in Carrollton, Georgia visiting his Grandparents when he almost stepped on a baby dove. They observed it and it had been attacked by a cat or something as it had puncture holes all in it. Jasper agreed to let him bring it home thinking it would be dead by morning.
Well as you can see she is very much alive! The sweetest little thing you ever did see. Here wings are far too damaged for her to survive in the wild. So she lives in our home. Just as rotten as her neighbor Shorty...our dog!

Haircut for Carl!

November 10, 2011

I don't know why, but some of my cell phone posts are not going through. I had posted last night about how the skunk had decided to come through the yard again. Peee ewww!

Today I have been trying to get some cleaning done. I re-cleaned the bathroom. That needs to be done almost daily anyway with all of us having to use just the 1. Also been doing the dreaded dishes. I don't know why I hate doing dishes so much but I do.

JJ just got out of the bed. It's noon! His one day to rest and he does just that....lol

Since it is lunch time I will quickly end this note and go fix us something to eat. :)

A busy weekend

It was one of the busiest weekends I have had in a while! Saturday morning I had to be at the church at 9am to head up the big fall church cleaning. We got so much done. It looks and smells so nice in the church now.

We began at 9 cleaning, and ended at 6pm. I scrubbed the grout on the tile floor the entire time in the ladies bathroom! it was a huge job! I was so tired! The fact that the time was changing could not have come at a better time!

Sunday we had church services. In between we finished up the final touches of the new church directory. I printed them before the night service. They look WONDERFUL! Church Member Wade Lam did an excellent job!

Andres had come into town to see Renee and Bella-Grace, but us being so busy we hardly saw him ourselves. He arrived on Friday night after we had went to bed, and left Sunday afternoon late. We probably only saw him about 2 hours total, not counting church time.

It was like I said a busy weekend, but we got so much done in the church. I am so glad.

This point in life

It's amazing to me how time flies by. One day your a child, no worries or cares. Seems like the next day your grown and life seems to be swiftly passing by. You know things will one day change, but when they begin, well, it is unsettling!
I remember holding Renee in the hospital. So new, tiny, and precious. I remember thinking how far away her being 18 seemed. Now she's 24 and has a baby of her own. I am almost 43 now. Mom is 86. We know her days are numbered. But, it seems like just a few days ago my dad was 43. Now he is 76.
We all know it is inevitable, we will face things in our lives as we get older. Seeing it here on us is hard. Finding out your sister has cancer shakes your very foundation. Seeing your oldest brother have a stroke is just terrible. Were supposed to be young still, carefree. Where has the time gone? What more will we see?

I just want to be ready when the Lord of all creation calls my name.
